IDBI Bank collects Rs 2 trillion in taxes in FY14

The bank has surpassed the Rs 1-trillion-mark in direct tax collection during the year, a statement said.

Mumbai: Public-sector lender IDBI Bank on Friday said it has mobilised close to Rs 2 trillion in direct and indirect taxes on behalf of the Central and state governments in FY2013-14.

The bank has surpassed the Rs 1-trillion-mark in direct tax collection during the year, a statement said.

"The aggregate collection of direct and indirect taxes was around Rs 1,95,000 crore, up from Rs 1,59,000 crore in FY'13," the bank said.

In FY'14, the bank launched online payment of stamp duty and registration fee in Maharashtra.

The bank is authorised to collect commercial tax, government receipts in Assam, Andhra, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Puducherry.
