IATA to train 4,000 Airports Authority officials

To provide airport management skills training to its staff, Airports Authority of India has joined hands with international air transporters' grouping IATA.

New Delhi: To provide airport management skills training to its staff, Airports Authority of India has joined hands with international air transporters' grouping IATA.

Under the pact signed between the two entities, IATA will impart training to 4,000 AAI officials for skill development in airport management as per global standards.

The International Air Transport Association represents around 260 airlines or 83 percent of total air traffic.

In a statement today, AAI Chairman R K Srivastava said there is a need to address the training needs of its officials as well as invest in expanding the pool of airport and air navigational services professionals.

AAI, which manages 125 airports, has more than 18,000 staffers on its rolls.
