Food delivery: Zomato buys stake in Grab and Pickingo

Zomato is also set to launch online ordering service in Dubai, Australia and South Africa later this month.

New Delhi: Restaurant search and review website Zomato has bought minority stakes in hyperlocal delivery companies -- Gurgaon-based Pickingo and Mumbai-based Grab – to strengthen its food ordering business.

Zomato has also partnered with Delhivery, the popular logistics startup that provides supply chain solutions to online and offline retailers.

“We have unequivocally the largest restaurant base in India and we will work closely with Pickingo, Grab, and Delhivery to improve the delivery experience for users placing orders online on Zomato, said Deepinder Goyal, CEO, Zomato.

Zomato is also set to launch online ordering service in Dubai, Australia and South Africa later this month.
