New Delhi: India's biggest e-commerce players Flipkart and Snapdeal are in the limelight and have engaged themselves in verbal spat to claim each one is superior than the other.

Recently, Kunal Bahl, Snapdeal CEO in an interview with Economic Times had said that Snapdeal will become India's largest online electronic marketplace and will overthrow Flipkart. Bahl had said that whatever number Flipkart has said, Snapdeal will be ahead of them.

Flipkart has come out and reacted to Bahl's comment. Mukesh Bansal, head of commerce, Flipkart, has said that Flipkart will sell goods worth Rs 65,000 crore during the 2016 fiscal and no other company will be even half of it, according to Economic Times report.

He also added that Flipkart plans to sell goods worth $100 billion in 5-7 years and would grab a market share of more than 70 percent.

Snapdeal is the largest marketplace in terms of merchants, with about 2 lakh sellers on its platform. On the other hand, Flipkart has the biggest market share and is the country's most valuable ecommerce company.
