ED issues summons to Moin Qureshi's daughter, wife over forex violation

ED has issued summons to controversial businessman Moin Akhtar Qureshi's elder daughter Sylvia for questioning in a PMLA case registered against Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), has issued summons to controversial businessman Moin Akhtar Qureshi's elder daughter Sylvia for questioning in a PMLA case involving Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

The ED has asked Moin Qureshi's daughter and his wife to appear before it next week.

It must be noted that the ED is probing a forex exchange violations case involving Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his associates for alleged contraventions in a 2011 foreign currency recovery case.

The agency, during its probe, has found that Rahat performed at Sylvia's marriage function who paid the singer in cash for his performance. However, Qureshi's family has denied any involvement in any such case.

Moin Qureshi faces several allegations of tax evasion, hawala transaction, forex violations and stashing black money abroad.
