New Delhi: With increasing government focus and growing awareness about the benefits of yoga, demand for instructors is expected to grow by about 30-35 percent in a couple of years, an Assocham study today said.

The initiative like 'International Yoga Day' has brought enhanced focus on yoga at a global level, the industry chamber said, adding that due to stress, more and more people are practicing yoga which requires trained teachers.

It promises to become a multi-billion dollar market in the form of health clinics, ayurveda resorts, holiday camps and corporate training, it said.

With yoga gaining popularity around the world, there is a shortage of trained yoga instructors, it added.

Corporates and business firms are facing the problem of stress among their staff members and yoga is not only the greatest stress buster, but is also an effective therapy option, the report said.

A mega event has been organised by the government on June 21 at Rajpath to mark the 'International Yoga Day'.
