New Delhi: Seems that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to soft drink companies to help augment fruit sales for Indian farmers by adding fresh fruit juices to their fizzy drinks has been recieved well.
As per a financial daily report, Coca Cola will launch a fruit based fizzy drink developed in India by 2015.
The paper, citing sources said that the company is testing various flavours on "priority basis" right now.
"Millions of people buy Pepsi and Coke. I have asked these companies if they can put five percent natural juice in their drinks," Modi said during inauguration of a food park in Karnataka in September.
India, the world's second largest producer of fruits and vegetables, throws away fresh produce worth millions of dollars every year because of the country's lack of adequate cold storage facilities and refrigerated transport.
