New Delhi: In a first, Chandigarh is mulling over a plan to make it mandatory for houses and buildings built on plot area larger than 100 square yards in size so as to promote a clean energy drive campaign, as per a report published in ET.

Though an official notification in this regard hasn't been released yet, but it's waited soon by the Chandigarh Renewable Energy Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST).

As per ET, the proposal may include clauses such as that all the houses situated on plots of 100-500 square yards can either install 1kW solar plant or a 100-litre solar heating system.

However, larger houses may not be provided with such choice.
