Apollo Hospitals Q4 net profit dips 5% to Rs 77 crore

Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Thursday reported a 4.92 percent dip in standalone net profit at Rs 77.33 crore for the March quarter on account of higher taxes.

New Delhi: Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Thursday reported a 4.92 percent dip in standalone net profit at Rs 77.33 crore for the March quarter on account of higher taxes.

The company, which posted a net profit of Rs 81.34 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal, said it plans to raise up to Rs 750 crore through a rights issue to its shareholders.

Standalone net sales of the company, however, rose to Rs 1,203.69 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs 998.18 crore for the same period year ago, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise said in a filing to BSE.

Consolidated net profit of the company also rose to Rs 325.41 crore for the full fiscal, from Rs 304.95 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company posted consolidated net sales of Rs 5,178.45 crore for the financial year ended March this year. It was Rs 4,384.22 crore in the year-ago period.

In a separate filing, Apollo Hospitals said, its Board has also decided to recommended a dividend of Rs 5.75 per share (115 percent of the face value of the share) for the fiscal year.

The board "approved the proposal to issue and allot equity shares of the company for an amount not exceeding Rs 750 crore to the equity shareholders of the company on a "Rights basis" at such price as may be determined by the Board or a Committee thereof..." it added.

Shares of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise today ended at Rs 1221.70 per scrip on the BSE, down 0.44.
