New Delhi: The debt laden national carrier Air India will be shifting their Mumbai headquarters to Delhi and let out the office space on rent.
The step, reportedly, is been taken as a cost cutting measure and to earn some extra income.
The Mumbai headquarters has 22 floors and is situated in Mumbai’s choicest real estate location in Nariman Point.
According to the financial restructuring plan, the airline has to raise around Rs 500 crore in the current financial year through sale and renting out of its property.
Air India is also hiring a property consultant to generate revenues from properties in countries like Nairobi, which is not of much use now, as per news reports.
