New Delhi: Air France on Wednesday said it expects to operate 42 percent of its flights on Thursday given the fact that around 60 percent of its pilots are on strike.

"Since last week, close to 1.1 million texts and messages have been sent to inform customers due to travel between 15 and 22 September," the airline said.

According to the airline, if the strike continues beyond Sep 18, then the current flight schedule will be adjusted and the customers will be informed of the potential impact the day before departure.

The airline said that its customers can postpone their trip between 23 September and 8 October 2014 at no extra cost and that full refund will be given for cancelled flights.

The airlines pilots are on a week-long strike over plans that Air France might expand its low-cost operations under brand name `Transavia`.
