After SpiceJet, IndiGo, Jet Airways join fare war

A day after SpiceJet offered fares for just Rs 499, budget carriers IndiGo and Jet Airways joined the fare war on Tuesday by offering domestic tickets for as low as Rs 999 and Rs 500 respectively.

New Delhi: A day after SpiceJet offered fares for just Rs 499, budget carriers IndiGo and Jet Airways joined the fare war on Tuesday by offering domestic tickets for as low as Rs 999 and Rs 500 respectively.

According to reports, IndiGo has priced its tickets for Delhi-Japiur flight at Rs 999, Rs 1,399 Srinagar-Chandigarh and Rs.4,829 for Bangalore-Delhi, all one-way.

To avail this IndiGo offer, one must their tickets 90 days in advance.

On the other hand, Jet Airways also announced a fare offer of Rs 500 only for its one-way domestic flights for a limited period.

To avail the offer, the booking must be done on Wednesday and Thursday only (September 3-4). However, travel under the offer can be taken only from January 16, 2015 onwards, the company said.

The offer is valid for travel only on direct flights on the airline's domestic network and does not cover group bookings, said the company.

Earlier on Monday, SpiceJet offered tickets for as low as Rs 499 and later claimed that it had sold over 1 lakh tickets by the end of the first day of the three-day sale bonanza.

For the SpiceJet tickets, travels are valid from January 16, 2015 to October 24, 2015.
