ACMA delegation to visit China

The delegation, which comprises of CEOs of leading auto component manufacturer firms, is led by ACMA President Harish Lakshman.

New Delhi: Auto Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) is organising a 10-member CEOs' delegation visit to China in order to explore opportunities to engage with Chinese automotive industry.

The delegation, during its four day visit starting today, would explore opportunities to engage with Chinese automotive industry.

"...With the Chinese automotive market being the largest and the fastest growing in the world and with rising trade deficit between India and China, the Indian auto component industry, with its growing capabilities, is keen to explore prospects of exports to China," Lakshman said.

In 2012-13 China exported auto components worth USD 2.4 billion to India while Indian exported USD 203 million to China, he added.

During the visit, the delegations will interact with global and Chinese OEMs, Chinese component manufacturers, government officials and local industry bodies to update them on the growing capabilities of the Indian auto component industry as well as further business engagements between the two countries.

ACMA delegates will meet CEOs and purchasing heads of leading OEMs, two wheelers and passenger vehicles, such as Ford, GM, Volkswagen and Lifan Motorcycles, and component manufactures including Faurecia, Corning, TRW, Sokon and others.

"With this, ACMA expects to inscribe positive trade figures and bolster business between both the Asian giants," Lakshman said.
