New Delhi: Samsung's latest high-end smartphones Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are official available in India for sale starting Friday, 10 April with a starting price of Rs 49,900.
Launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) last month, they were available for pre-order via online retailers like Flipkart, Amazon India, Infibeam and Snapdeal.
The Galaxy S6 will be offered in three storage options — 32 GB at Rs 49,900, 64 GB at Rs 55,900 and the 128 GB variant at Rs 61,900.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is priced at Rs 58,900 for the 32 GB variatn, Rs 64,900 for 64GB, and Rs 70,900 for 128 GB.
With these smartphones, the South Korean giant plans to take up Apple Inc which recently launched its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the country.
On the specification front, the Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a 1440x2560 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protective covering.
The smatphone is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 CPU with Mali-T760 and 3 GB RAM. It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and supports dual SIM.
With regards to camera, it sports a 16MP back camera with autofocus and LED flash and 5MP front facing camera with Auto HDR. It is backed by a 2550 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a similar spec sheet however, it comes with a dual-curved display both on the left and the right side. Besides, it comes with a larger 2800 mAh battery.
