New Delhi: Heating up the fierce and competitive affordable smartphone market in India, Microsoft on Monday launched its much anticipated and awaited Nokia Lumia 630, both in single and dual-SIM variants.

The Lumia phones will be the first smartphones to run on Microsoft's Windows 8.1.

Microsoft further heightened up the heat by fiercely pricing the Lumia series phones at Rs 10,500 for the single SIM and Rs 11,500 for the dual-SIM with an aim to take on other models such as Moto G, HTC Desire 210 and Samsung S Duos.

Taking forward the "cloud first, mobile first" strategy outlined by India-born Microsoft chief Satya Nadella, Lumia 630 will sport features like Microsoft's Office and OneDrive, a cloud storage facility through which documents, photos and music can be accessed via the Internet.

"Lumia is our principal smartphone strategy. Lumia phones will come with Nokia's promise of quality packed with Microsoft's services like OneDrive, Office 365 and others. Lumia 630 opens a new avenue for affordable smartphones for us," P Balaji, Managing Director of Nokia India, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobiles Oy, said.

The device, to be available in the market from May 14, is integrated with the new Microsoft Enterprise feature pack, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Camera, Maps and Drive plus to operate seamlessly as a tool for work and play.

"The new smart phone offers great entertainment with Xbox games, MixRadio to provide free music streaming and Storyteller on its 4.5-inch black screen for better viewing angles and visibility in bright conditions," Balaji pointed out.

For imaging experience, Lumia 630 is fitted with a five-mega pixel auto focus camera and advanced imaging applications like Nokia camera and cinemagraph.

The device also has expandable memory up to 128GB (giga bytes) to allow storing pictures, videos, music, maps and apps with ease.

"For Indian consumers, the smart phone is pre-loaded with video app Box TV to offer sitcoms, Hollywood and Bollywood content, free of cost for two months, free e-Books worth Rs.2,000 on Flipkart, six free games by Gamesloft for gaming enthusiasts and the NextGTv app for cricket fans, allowing them to live streaming all the IPL (Indian Premiere League) matches for free," director (marketing) Viral Oza said.
