"From October 17, Indians will be able to enjoy the Chromebook experience with the launch of the Acer C720 Chromebook and the HP Chromebook 14," Google India said in a release.

Acer's C720 Chromebook slips easily into a bag or purse and has over 8 hours of battery power, while, HP's Chromebook 14 has a 14-inch screen, it added.

Google is offering 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years (starting on the date the buyer redeems the drive offer) with the Acer and HP models.

Acer C720 Chromebook is priced at Rs 22,999, while HP Chromebook 14 is Rs 26,990 and will be available at select Reliance Digital and Croma stores in Delhi and Mumbai from October 17.

It is also available for pre-order at Flipkart Online from today.

Google had announced the Chromebook for sale at its developers conference in May 2011 and began shipping a month later. Besides the laptop models, a desktop version was also introduced last year called Chromebox.
