Xiaomi unveils Redmi 2S with dual 4G LTE connectivity

Redmi 2S will have an upgraded Qualcomm 410 quad-core processor, an improved 2MP front camera and will have dual 4G SIM support.

New Delhi: Following the blockbuster success of Redmi 1S, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Sunday unveiled an imppoved version, the Redmi 2S with 4G LTE connectivity.

The Redmi 2S will go on sales in China from January 9 with a price tag of CNY 699 which is about USD 110.

Said to be an improved version of its predecessor, the Redmi 2S will have, more or less, same features of the Redmi 1S which includes 4.7-inch, 1280 x 720 display, 1GB RAM and 8GB on-device storage. It will also have the 8MP rear camera.

However, as the improved version, the Redmi 2S will have an upgraded Qualcomm 410 quad-core processor, an improved 2MP front camera and will have dual 4G SIM support.

The smartphone is likely to run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

To make it more attractive, the Redmi 2S will be available in five colours of white, black, yellow, green and pink.

There are no details available about its launch in India though.

2014 has been a great year for the Xiaomi as it announced Sunday that it sold over 60 million smartphones during year.
