Xiaomi Redmi 2 gets Rs 1,000 price cut in India

After the price cut of Rs 1,000, the phone will be available at Rs 5,999 on Mi.com, Xiaomi's official website.

New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has slashed the price of its budget smartphone – Redmi 2 in India.

Redmi 2 was launched in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 6,999 in March this year. However, after the price cut of Rs 1,000, the phone will be available at Rs 5,999 on Mi.com, Xiaomi's official website.

Moreover, the phone can be also bought under a special exchange offer on Flipkart for Rs 3,999, depending on your old phone's valuation.

This 4G-capable Redmi 2 was originally launched in January this year.

The smartphone features a 4.7-inch (1280x720) IPS display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, and a 2MP front camera. The dual-SIM Redmi 2 has an internal storage space of 8GB (expandable up to 32GB).

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, USB Host, USB OTG, FM Radio, a 2200 mAh battery. It also features MEMs microphones for better voice calling quality.
