New Delhi: Following the mega success of Xiaomi Mi3, the Chinese smartphone company plans to launch another entry-level smartphone, the Redmi 1S in the Indian smartphone market before the end of August.
According to reports, the company has sent out invitation for an event scheduled for August 26 in New Delhi where it is likely to showcase the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.
Unveiled earlier this year, Xiaomi Redmi 1S has been priced at Rs 6,999/ only, the same price as Motorola's Moto E. However, it is not clear yet as to whether it will be available for sale in the market on August 26, the day of the launch.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and comes with 1GB of RAM. The internal memory is 16GB which is expandable via a microSD card to 64GB.
The phone has a 2000mAh battery. As for the camera, it sports a 8MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front-facing camera.
Considering its specifications, there is no denying that the Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be another hot selling smartphone like Mi 3.
