Xiaomi Mi3 sold out within seconds again; Flipkart website crashes

The Xiaomi Mi3 again sold out its 15000 units on e commerce site Flipkart within seconds of sale.

New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Xiaomi that was launched this year, has made a splash with its Mi3 phone.

The phone again sold out its 15000 units on e commerce site Flipkart within seconds of sale that begun at 2 pm today. So much has been the craze of the phone that the online website crashed within seconds after the sale.

This is the third Mi3 flash sale in India by the Chinese technology major. Registrations for the smartphone had closed by midnight last night.

On July 29, Xiaomi Mi3 units were sold out in a record 5 seconds time. In its first flash sale, on July 22, it took around 39 minutes for the company to sell all the devices.

The total number of Mi3 devices, priced at Rs 13,999, sold on Flipkart to date is 20,000.

Flipkart had earlier said it received about 1,00,000 registrations for the Mi3 between July 15 and July 21.

Xiaomi Mi3 sports a 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, aluminium-magnesium alloy frame and many more features.Known as the ‘Apple’ of China, Xiaomi plans to bring in more devices like Redmi 1S and Redmi Note, priced at Rs 6,999 and Rs 9,999, respectively, in the coming days.

The Indian smartphone market is witnessing strong competition between local and international players, all vying to grab a share of the multi—billion dollar market.
