New Delhi: Xiaomi Mi3 is, perhaps, the mega blockbuster smartphone of the year. The Chinese smartphone sold 20,000 units on Flipkart in mere seconds on Tuesday. And what is interesting is, this is the sixth time that Mi3 has been sold out in seconds.

For the sixth flash sale on Flipkart, Xiaomi Mi3 has reportedly received about 2,00,000 registrations for 20,000 units. And they were all gone in seconds, the e-retail company claims.

With this, Flipkart has sold 95,000 units of Mi3 in its six rounds of flash sale.

The next round of flash sale is on September 2 for which the registrations have already begun on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.

During its first sale, the company had started with 10,000 units of the phone. However, considering the speed at which it was sold off, the unit was increased to 20,000 per flash sale.

And keeping up with the popularity of Mi3, Xiaomi on Tuesday launched another budget smartphone, the Redmi 1S, pricing it agressively at Rs 5,999.

Prior to the launch, the price of Xiaomi Redmi 1S was said to be Rs 6,999. However, in order to give tougher competition to Motorola's Moto E, the Chinese company cut the price of the phone during the launch.

Registrations for Redmi 1S on Flipkart has begun and will gone sales on September 2, the same date for the flash sale of Xiaomi Mi3.
