Sony Xperia Z3 unveiled; can stream from your PS4

Sony Corporation on Wednesday unveiled its flagship smartphone Xperia Z3 at the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany, adding a new feature wherein the phone can be used as a display for PlayStation 4 and games played.

Berlin: Sony Corporation on Wednesday unveiled its flagship smartphone Xperia Z3 at the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany, adding a new feature wherein the phone can be used as a display for PlayStation 4 and games played.

According to the new feature, Xperia Z3 has the ability to act as a display for PS4 and play it using the phone as the screen while the console does all the games processing. However, for the feature to function, the video will be streamed over Wi-Fi to the phone.

Sony confirmed that Xperia Z3 will be available in the market by October.

Sony Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch full HD display (1920x1080) and runs on Android KitKat 4.4.4 supported by a slightly faster 2.5GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor.

It has a 20.7MP camera which features a wide-angle lens. Sony is said to have claimed that Xperia Z3 is the first phone camera that has ISO speeds up to 12,800.

The smartphone promises up to two days of battery life with normal usage, as per the company.

Besides Xperia Z3, Sony also revealed the Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia E3.
