New Delhi: Buoyed by the strong success of its Xperia series, Sony on Thursday launched the Xperia Z2 here in India with a price tag of Rs 49,990.
To be available in the market from May 12, the Sony Xperia Z2 runs on Google's latest Operating System, Android 4.4 KitKat and features a 5.2-inch Triluminos display.
Xperia Z2 is supported by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 3GB RAM and an internal memory of 16GB that is expandable to 64GB via microSD cards.
Seen as a worthy challenger to Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC M8 (One), the Xperia Z2 also features a 20.7MP camera along with 3000 mAh battery.
The Xperia Z2 will be bundled along with the SmartBand initially for free. Sony will also bundle six free HD movies for download, one full-HD cricket game, and three months Bigflix subscription as well as a Sony flipcase.
Xperia Z2 also has a 2.2-megapixel rear camera and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, etc.
