Microsoft has unveiled two 'big screen' budget Windows Phones, the 5-inch Lumia 640 and the 5.7-inch Lumia 640XL at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona.

Microsoft has unveiled two 'big screen' budget Windows Phones, the 5-inch Lumia 640 and the 5.7-inch Lumia 640XL at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona.

Stephen Elop took the stage to present the two new products from Microsoft Devices that will come with a free version Office 365 Personal which is actually worth about USD 69.99.

On the specification front, Microsoft Lumia 640 is packed with a 5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution (294ppi) and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset (quad-core Cortex-A7 at 1.2GHz) with 1GB of RAM.

The Lumia 640 comes with an 8GB of storage that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD cards.

The camera has been upgraded and it comes with an 8MP back camera with LED flash and a 1MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers. The main camera can shoot 1080p video at 30fps, while the front camera manages 720p.

It sports a 2,500mAh battery and connectivity options include single and dual-SIM options, 3G and LTE versions.

On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 640XL comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD with 720p resolution (259ppi) with ClearBlack tech and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset with aquad-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

AS for the camera, it comes with a 13MP with Zeiss f/2.0 lens and 1/3" sensor and a LED flash. The front camera comes with a 5MP sensor.

It has the same memory capacity with the Lumia 640 and comes with a 3,000mAh battery.

Both the Lumia phones will be avaiable in a variety of colours - Cyan, Orange, Black and White, and will be available from April.
