Apple Inc on Monday unveiled its latest and new operating system iOS 9 for its iPhones and iPads at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015.

Apple Inc on Monday unveiled its latest and new operating system iOS 9 for its iPhones and iPads at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015.

With the new operating system, Apple aims to make iPhones and iPads faster and smarter with main focus on upgrading Siri.

The iOS 9 will, however, be available later this year.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, introduced the iOS 9 and said the new OS will be a “proactive assistant”.

Other improved features of the iOS 9 will include better security, better maps and a platform called News that will pulled content from the New York Times and Condé Nast publications straight into your phone.

Highlighting the features of iOS 9, Federighi said if an unknown caller phones you, your iPhone will look into your emails/contact information and figure out the name of the caller.

Apple also unveiled a new OS for Macintosh, the OS X El Capitan and said free upgrades for the new operating system will be available during the fall.
