Silver futures fall 0.59% on global cues

Silver prices fell by 0.59 percent to Rs 36,819 per kg in futures trade on Wednesday on weak cues from the global market amid strengthening dollar.

New Delhi: Silver prices fell by 0.59 percent to Rs 36,819 per kg in futures trade on Wednesday on weak cues from the global market amid strengthening dollar.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year was trading down by Rs 218, or 0.59 percent, to Rs 36,819 per kg in a business turnover of 1,616 lots.

In a similar fashion, the white metal for delivery in December declined by Rs 190, or 0.53 percent, to Rs 35,968 per kg in a business volume of nine lots.

Market analysts said a subdued trend in global markets as a strengthening dollar curbed demand for a store of value, led to the fall in silver prices in futures trade here.

In the international market, silver lost 0.70 percent to USD 16.46 an ounce in Singapore.
