TVS Motor Q4 net up 74% at Rs 91 crore

Net profit rose by 32.9 per cent to Rs 347.83 crore during the fiscal as compared to Rs 261.63 crore in the previous fiscal.

New Delhi: TVS Motor Company on 29th April, reported 73.67 per cent increase in its profit after tax at Rs 90.52 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2015, riding on back of new launches.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 52.12 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose by 13.8 per cent to Rs 2,456.85 crore in the fourth quarter, compared to Rs 2,159.79 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, TVS Motor Company said in a filing to the BSE.
During the fourth quarter, the company's motorcycle sales increased to 2.21 lakh units in the reported quarter from 1.97 lakh units in the fourth quarter of 2013-14.

Scooter sales increased from 1.37 lakh units in the fourth quarter of 2013-14 to 1.66 lakh units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15.

The company said its two-wheeler exports grew to 82,971 units in the period under review from 66,826 units in the same period of previous fiscal.

Three-wheeler sales rose to 26,901 units in the fourth quarter as against 21,294 units the same period of 2013-14.

For the fiscal ended March 31, 2015, TVS' total revenue increased by 26.8 per cent to Rs 10,098.22 crore, compared to Rs 7,965.94 crore in 2013-14.

Net profit rose by 32.9 per cent to Rs 347.83 crore during the fiscal as compared to Rs 261.63 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company's overall two-wheeler sales, including exports, grew to 24.09 lakh units in 2014-15 as compared to 19.93 lakh units in 2013-14.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 237.35 apiece on the BSE, up 4.31 per cent from previous close.
