Porsche to open its first ever classic car center

A new center dedicated to servicing, restoring and selling vintage Porsches, from 356 Speedsters to 959 supercars, will open its doors to classic car connoisseurs on Thursday.

Despite the fact that over 70 percent of all cars ever to roll out of Zuffenhausen are still on the road and that the Porsche marque is one of the most collectable and desired of all sportscars, it's hard to believe that the Porsche Classic Centre Gelderland, in Arnhem, the Netherlands is the first in the world.

However, the company is finally taking note and has pledged to open a global network of 100 centers catering to collectors by 2018, each offering maintenance, partial and total overhauls and access to 52,000 spare parts. The spaces will also of course offer sales of certified classic cars.
