Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel to be launched today

The Maruti Celerio diesel will be powered by a Suzuki-developed 0.8-liter two-cylinder diesel engine.

New Delhi: Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is all set to launch the diesel variant of its hatchback Celerio today.

Media reports had earlier surfaced that the car company will launch the 800cc Celerio diesel variant on June 3 and will have a mileage of about 30 kms a litre.

Right now, the Celerio is available in petrol and CNG variants which are priced at Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 4.92 lakh respectively.

The car, expected to be pitted against Cheverolet Beat and Hyundai's Grand i10, will reportedly churn out 47bhp power at 3,500rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 2,000rpm.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 5.5-8 lakh.

Some of the new features likely to included in the Celerio diesel variant are dual-front airbags and ABS, a 2-DIN music system with steering mounted controls.

According to reports, the Maruti Celerio diesel will be powered by a Suzuki-developed 0.8-liter two-cylinder diesel engine.
