Finance, production and distribution company AMBI Group has optioned life rights to the story of Italian icon and carmaker Ferruccio Lamborghini, with details for the film already in the pipeline.
The company, owned and run by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi, will finance and produce the feature biopic, which has a working title of "Lamborghini – The Legend."
ComingSoon.net reports that the duo plan to shoot the film this summer in Italy as well as other locations around the world that played a role in shaping the legend of the Italian entrepreneur.
The movie – based on a book and input from Lamborghini’s son, Tonino – is set to depict the events that led to his success, from dark beginnings in the midst of WWII, to designing the series of sports cars that revolutionized the global automotive industry.
AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of the AMBI Group, will handle worldwide sales rights on the film.
