New Delhi: Amidst a lot of fanfare, General Motors India has launched its multi purpose vehicle Enjoy at an introductory price between Rs 5.49 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Enjoy is based on the platform from General Motors' Chinese partner SAIC and it has a localisation level of 60 percent.

Paddock said the company has no plans to export Enjoy and the focus will be the domestic market. The car will compete with Mahindra Xylo, Nissan Evalia and Maruti Ertiga.

Let’s have a look at five interesting things about the MPV.

Looks and Design
Look wise the car might not impress you much. The sliding front bonnet of the car does not give it the look of an MPV. It lacks the ‘macho’ appeal. The sharp crease in the bonnet infact gives the car a compact feel. The rear image of Enjoy too makes it look like more of a compact car. However the front grille gives the car a nice and decent look.

Engine Specifications
The car is available in both petrol and diesel version. The diesel version of the car is touted to be more impressive—in terms of producing both power and torque. The engines— a four-cylinder 1.3-litre diesel motor and a four-cylinder 1.4 litre petrol motor developing 77.5PS and 104PS of power respectively. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car is powered by a 1.3-litre multi-jet engine from FIAT

Price
The car has been affordably priced. Both petrol and diesel version of the car has an affordable entry level pricing though the top model of the car is also not too exorbitant as compared to other existing MPV segment. Have a look at the price chart.

Petrol:

Enjoy LS (8-seater) - Rs 5.49 lakh
Enjoy LS (7-seater) - Rs 5.64 lakh
Enjoy LT (7-seater) – Rs 6.31 lakh
Enjoy LTZ (7-seater) - Rs 6.99 lakh

Diesel:
Enjoy LS (8-seater) - Rs 6.69 lakh
Enjoy LS (7-seater) - Rs 6.75 lakh
Enjoy LT (7-seater) - Rs 7.42 lakh
Enjoy LTZ (7-seater) - Rs 7.99 lakh

Space
Being a seven seater MPV, the vehicle aims to capture big families who look for bigger space. The car has a good leg room as well as headroom. Space will not disappoint you. The seven seater car can also very nicely accommodate eight people in case of urgency. “With Front Row Bucket Seats, 2nd Row Captain Seats and Flexi-smart, double-folding 3rd Row Seat that also offers excellent legroom,” the car’s website says.

Disappointing factor
The car features 175/65 R14 tyres, made for the Indian roads. However the size of the tyres does not match with the overall size of the car. It looks rather small. Another disappointing factor is the seating technique. The middle seat of the car cannot be folded hence those going to take the third row seat of the car might find it very difficult to move.
