New Delhi: German Auto major BMW on Thursday launched the new X3 model in the Indian market, starting at a price of Rs 44.0 lakh.

The current generation X3 is available since 2011 in the Indian market. The new X3 is an upgraded facelift version of the existing model.

The new X3 will feature cosmetic alterations, minor technical upgrades and the addition of a few more features to spruce up the mid size SUV’s package. The next generation car made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

The car's front will have relatively larger head-lamps with a prominent BMW kidney grille. The SUV will have new rear and front bumpers, exterior mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators.

On the interior front, the cabin will have plush interiors with chrome accents, new panelling. The display system is new and the navigation system has been replaced by new unit. BMW might also introduce new body paint options.

The updated mid-size SUV is expected to get the TwinPower 2-litre diesel engine which has been tuned to offer more power and efficiency. BMW India may only offer it in a single engine option which, in all probability, will be with the xDrive variant.

X3 will be competing with Audi Q5 and Land Rover Freelander 2. The pricing of the car can be in the range of Rs 45-60 lakh.
