New Delhi: Car sales have witnessed various ups and downs in India this year. Auto sales in the country grew from May to August this year after a prolonged slump which lasted over two years.
However, sales figures could not become a deterrent to Auto companies who lined up their vehicles for the Indian customers throughout the year.
Some cars were launched in the backdrop of a lot of hype and anticipation while others were launched in reticence.
Here's looking at five Sedan launches of 2014.
Chevrolet Cruze
GM India launched the new Chevrolet Cruze in India this year. The sedan, priced between Rs 13 lakh and 17 lakh has been launched with an updated 6-speed automatic gearbox with a super fuel efficiency.
BMW M3 sedan
German luxury car maker BMW launched next generation M3 sedan in the country in November this year. The Sedan, priced at Rs 1.19 crore, deliver superior performance with a newly developed six cylinder engine and light weight design. The M3 is the fifth generation model of BMW.
Audi A3 sedan
In August this year Audi launched its new sedan A3 priced between Rs 22.95 lakh and Rs 32.66 lakh. The company expects A3 is to join the compact SUV Q3, sedans A4 and A6 as its growth drivers in India.
Fiat new Linea
Fiat rolled out a new version of its sedan Linea in both petrol and diesel variants, with a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh in March this year. The Linea comes with better ground clearance, which is the longest in the segment and better interiors.
Tata Zest
Tata Motors launched compact sedan 'Zest' with the base petrol variant starting at a price of Rs. 4.64 lakh in August. It comes with the Revotron 1.2T, the first engine from the new family of gasoline engines from Tata Motors and is India's first Turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) petrol engine. As part of its new strategy, Tata Motors plans to launch two new vehicles every year.
