New Delhi: India's leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday launched its much anticipated diesel variant of hatchback Celerio pricing it competitively between Rs 4.65 lakh to Rs 5.71 lakh.
Maruti Celerio boasts of some salients features that should interest auto industry and the buyers.
Here is a look at the features of Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel variant.
Diesel variant: Following the huge success of its petrol and CNG version, Maruti believes the diesel variant of its hatchback Celerio will be a bigger hit. Hence, the company has come up with the diesel variant.
“Our market research shows that 40 percent of the customers who came for lower hatchbacks showed interest in the diesel vehicle...”, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, R S Kalsi said.
DDiS 125 engine: The DdiS 125 is the first diesel engine designed by the company at its Gurgaon plant. Localised up to 97 percent, the company says, it is “designed to offer a smooth drive and strengthens Celerio's reputation as a car that offers easy drive in cities as well as highways." Moreover, this is the first global launch of the diesel engine by Maruti.
Mileage of 27.62 kmpl: The Celerio diesel is powered by 793cc engine and Maruti claims it gives a fuel mileage of 27.62 pmpl. This is probably one of the highest mileage in the market considering that quite a few cars can offer upto 25 kmpl, many of them from Maruti.
Upgradable diesel engine: MSI Executive Director-Engineering, CV Raman said that the 793cc diesel engine is BS-IV compliant and could be upgraded for future norms too. Now, that is a piece of good news.
It's Maruti Suzuki brand: And yes! As cliche as it may sound, Celerio comes from India's leading and most trust auto brand, Maruti Suzuki India; a brand known for its service, trust, pricing, maintainance level, etc.
