Mumbai: The much-awaited film of the year - Thugs of Hindostan - must have been an experience of a lifetime for the cast and crew. Starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Katrina Kaif and Zeeshan Ayub in pivotal roles, the film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, is set in the backdrop of India under the British rule.

The costume designers spent hours get the perfect look for each of the characters, and in the end, the filmmaker was delighted to see the results.

The film which is slated to hit theatres on November 8 also stars English actor Lloyd Owen.

Reportedly set in the backdrop of India under the British rule in the 19th century, Thugs of Hindostan is inspired by Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug. It revolves around the life of a thug and his gang who challenge the British Empire in the country.

Aamir plays Firangi Mallah in a film and he has undergone a major transformation to justify the character.  He comes across a thug who robs people of their belongings. Except for his dhoti, he wears clothes and sports accessories robbed from others. Big B as Khudabaksh looks like a warrior who is also a farmer, Fatima as Zafira comes across as the daredevil while Katrina as Suraiyya, the ultimate siren.
