New Delhi: One of the well-known filmmakers in Hindi cinema, Onir is ready with yet another venture 'Shab' starring Raveena Tandon in the lead. The film also stars Arpita Chatterjee, Ashish Bisht, Simon Frenay, Gaurav Nanda and Areesz Ganddi.
When asked how he decided to cast newcomers in his film, the director was quoted as saying, "I always think there was a time when I started out in the industry and was a newcomer. At that time someone showed trust on me and now it's my turn to do the same".
Ashish Bisht, who is making his debut with this film said, “Raveena Tandon was extremely supportive during the shooting of this film and the experience has been enriching”.
He added, "This film required a fresh face and also there is a responsibility that new people should be welcomed in the industry for fresh talent. Ashish Bisht has the talent and suited the role perfectly. It was a challenge, not a risk. He bought in a kind of freshness and innocence. I am happy with the final product where we spent almost a year. Talking about Arpita, he mentioned how she has worked a lot in Bengali films and ideally should have made her foray into Bollywood long back”.
'Shab' is set to release on July 14, 2017.
