Mumbai: Rishi Kapoor recently lashed out at filmmaker Anurag Basu for delaying ‘Jagga Jasoos’, a film produced by his son Ranbir Kapoor. The veteran actor also slammed the director for dropping the scenes featuring Govinda, who had shot for the film without charging a penny.
And now, Govinda has thanked Senior Kapoor for showing concern towards him.
According to a report in India.com, originally attributed to Bombay Times, Govinda said, “Thank you Rishi sir. At last, you showed concern. Good blood never speaks wrong”.
For the uninitiated, Kapoor, who was visibly miffed with Basu for not showing the film to his son until a day before it released, reportedly said, “You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place? Iss sab mein Ranbir ka naam toh kh araab hoga, aur kya? Mera kharaab hoga!”
‘Jagga Jasoos’, Ranbir’s debut film as a producer proved to be a dud at the Box Office. The fantasy fiction, touted as a children’s film was way behind its actual release schedule. After much delay, the film finally released on July 14 but didn’t get an opening that was expected. Also starring Katrina Kaif, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ has minted a little over Rs 50 Crores so far.
