New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat is all set to hit the theaters on January 25, 2018. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer Padman was also slated to release on the same day. The clash has now been averted as Padman will now release on February 9, 2018. Akshay agreed to postpone release of the film so that Bhansali's film, that has been surrounded by controversies ever since its inception, can get a solo release.

Actress Deepika Padukone who is playing the title role in the film, expressing her gratitude to Akshay, wrote, "Only from the heart can you touch the sky - Rumi. On behalf of team 'Padmaavat', a big, big thank you to the team 'Pad Man' for your support and generosity!"
