The monsoons have arrived and so has the season of some big budget films.

These films have been in discussion since their inception and are certainly one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Let’s take a look four films featuring some of the biggest names, slated to release this monsoon.

Tubelight

One of the most anticipated films of the year – Tubelight – by Bollywood heavyweight Salman Khan is all set to hit the silverscreen on June 23. The trailer of the Eid release has proved to be mighty impressive and fans of the 51-year-old hunk are eagerly waiting to watch the film. Besides Salman, the film also stars Sohail Khan, late actor Om Puri, Zeeshan Ayub and Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance. Chinese actress Zhu Zhu will make her Bollywood debut and so will child artiste Matin Rey Tangu. Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Tubelight’ is set in the backdrop of the Indo-Sino war of 1962.

Jagga Jasoos

Anurag Basu’s much delayed film – Jagga Jasoos – starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif – is one of its kinds in Bollywood. The trailer of the film which was unveiled a few months ago has caught the imagination of moviegoers. It’s a fantasy thriller with a very Hollywood-like feel. The trailer gave us glimpses into the world of Jagga who is on a mission to find his father. Will he succeed in his mission? Well, to know the answer, you will have to watch the film which comes across as a perfect family entertainer. You can walk into the world of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ on July 14.

Jab Harry Met Sejal

There were too many speculations about the title of the film. It was earlier believed that the film was titled ‘The Ring’ and later it was being said that it is ‘Rehnuma’. Nonetheless, now that the makers have announced the title of the film, we know the name of the characters. And from the first look poster it is clear that it’s a light hearted romantic film. If reports are anything to go by, SRK will be seen essaying the character of a tourist guide. Moreover, the super-hit jodi of SRK and Anushka will be back. The duo has already delivered blockbusters like ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ in the past. ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is Imtiaz Ali’s labour of love and is slated to release on August 4.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet project – Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan – Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ highlights the importance of sanitation and hygiene. Based on an unusual subject, the film revolves around the life of a newly married couple, whose marriage runs into trouble because of the lack of a toilet in their house. The trailer of the film has proved to be mighty impressive and it would be interesting to see the kind of impact it will make at the Box Office. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will release on August 11.
