Mumbai: Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgn who have worked together in Indra Kumar’s rom-com Ishq in 1997, clashed at the Box Office on Diwali this year. The former’s Secret Superstar and the latter’ Golmaal Again had released on October 19 and 20 respectively. And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, the two will battle it out next year too on Diwali.
According to a report in DNA, Aamir starrer Thugs of Hindostan, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Yash Raj Films is slated to release on Diwali next year. Interestingly, Indra Kumar, who will be directing Total Dhamaal, has expressed his wish to release it on the same day. This would make Aamir and Ajay’s clash inevitable.
If the makers of Total Dhamaal zero in on Diwali 2018 to release their film, then Ajay will be pitted against the YRF banner on Diwali for the second time. The two parties had an ugly fight over the distribution of screens when Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan had released in 2012.
Thugs of Hindostan also stars Amitabh Bcahchan, Katrina Kaif and Dangal girl Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles, while Total Dhamaal also starring Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaffery, will mark the reunion of Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit after 20 years.
Ajay has had a great time at the Box Office this year with Baadshaho and Golmaal Again. Aamir’s Secret Superstar, a critically acclaimed film did decent business at the Box Office.
