Bikas Bhagat

They sizzled together in ‘The Twilight’ and their breathtaking romance mesmerized their ardent fans. It was a torture for Edward to be away from Bella for a single moment, and even before the arc lights went off, the romantic leads - Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart became the ‘it’ couple, as their onscreen love had transpired into reality.

But Robert recently got a rude shock thanks to the lady, whom he was soon to propose marriage.

Kristen Stewart cheated on her boyfriend with the director of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, Rupert Sanders, and the world turned upside down for poor Robert. Post the scandal, the actor feared promoting the final Twilight film ‘Breaking Dawn 2’ with Kristen and dreaded facing the media for press conferences with his ex.

It’s not hard to imagine the pain, which R-Patz must be going through right now. A heart crushed at the hands of one’s own beloved is the most painful. The actor, at present, is struggling hard to attend social events and face the ‘swindler’ whom he is yet to forgive and get over.

Of course, the age old adage of ‘never date a colleague’ might not really help Robert at this point of solitude, but our man can certainly take a leaf out of his Bollywood counterparts. B-town is replete with numerous splits, breakups and fallouts but when it comes interacting with the media or coming out to promote a film, they are far more boisterous and outgoing than their western celebs.

Let’s take the case of Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Webloid is full of their on-off romantic escapades, bonding and then parting, but neither of them showed reservations about facing the media glare for their own films together. Case in point – during ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ promotions, they pretty much painted the town red together. Besides them, another celeb - our dimpled beauty Preity Zinta who inspite of a break up with Ness Wadia, seems to be fine sharing an IPL team with him. The actress shared a vibrant and a sweet relationship with the biz tycoon once, but some misunderstanding and consequent split did not mean they severed all ties with each other. Every year, during the IPL they make sure, that even if they are not together as a couple anymore, there is no love lost for their team.

See, how simple it is for our folks down here!

But, the big question which now arises is how do they make it happen? Well, the answer comes from Deepika Padukone, who after publicly accusing Ranbir Kapoor on Karan Johar’s talk show of being a terrible boyfriend, is working as the romantic lead opposite RK in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani’. Talking about how happy she is acting with him again, Deepika says, “Ranbir and I may have broken up, but we remain friends. To cope with a break-up, I always think positively about a person I might have been in love with.”

The leggy beauty Deepika also advises former couples to not force themselves on to each other. “The best way to cope with our problems is to get engrossed in our work. So once you are done smiling for the cameras and talking about your work, go do your own thing,” she said.

However, since this issue revolves around something as complicated as love, there is bound to be some aberration as unlike Deepika and Ranbir, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham are yet to become friends again.

But R-Patz still can learn a lot from Bollywood as Bipasha recently said that her former relationship is no longer a sore subject. “I believe in leaving the past behind to deal with the present and be able to work towards a bright future,” she said, adding, “Break ups need not be given much importance.” She is not doing any films with John at the moment but bumping into him in studios, award functions or filmi parties is no big deal for her.
