‘Celebs’ is how we like to call them, with utmost adoration and awe. We let them take pleasure in the ‘God-like’ status that they have seemingly managed to attain over the years; we wait endlessly for their movies to release and pray that they run to full houses. We struggle, we scream, we plead to just see them in person for once. And if by a quirk of fate we actually meet them, some amongst us also hold a record of sorts for bursting into tears or even fainting! And after all, who isn’t aware of how much we can crave for that one autograph from our fav star, never mind the possibility of landing into an over-crowded squeeze!

But it’s not just us; even the law feels affection for them as they’ve always had the option of getting out of any mess. Even in the law-abiding West, it’s rare to actually see celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton being incarcerated. Let’s not ignore the fact that they have it easy and comfy behind bars too!

Having said that, I think the fans’ love for their favourite celeb is touching a new high with each passing day. Consider the most bizarre, yet amusing, auctions of celeb related objects in the recent past. When it comes to being a super-fan, money seems to take a back-seat, for sure. From personal belongings to celebrity hair to worn clothing to exhaled air (yuck!), chewed gum (yuck, yuck!), people don’t hesitate in coughing up millions to be able to grab a piece of their idol.

I mean legitimately auctioning off MJ’s crystal white glove, or Cher’s bra or Elvis’ trademark black quaff could still be sane considering that people, in the crazy world out there, might just want to have a possession of a thing actually worn by their favourite celeb.

But we just can’t put a ‘frivolous spending’ tag on for many ‘believe it or not’ auctions greatly influenced by nothing but insanity. Following is the list of 10 of the weirdest auctions in Hollwood; all in the name of a lunatic fan’s pricey devotion toward his favourite star!

John Lennon’s Toilet
As a result of this ultra-gross auction, late Beatles star John Lennon’s toilet was sold for 9,500 pounds in Liverpool. Believe it or not, but an overseas collector actually bought the porcelain lavatory that was used by the music legend during the three years he lived at Tittenhurst Park, Berkshire.

Brangelina’s Exhaled Air
Kicking off the trend of ‘Celebrity Air’ auction, 1-quart Mason jar filled with Hollywood’s ‘It’ couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s exhaled breath was sold off for a price of USD 529.99.

Britney Spears’ Chewed Gum
This super-disgusting auction is almost a decade-old story, an era when Britney Spears ruled the tinsel town. Such was Britney’s craze that a chewed-up piece of the pop star’s gum was auctioned off for USD 14,000.

William Shatner’s Kidney Stone
This may sound both weird and creepy, but William’s fans didn’t mind it. Shatner auctioned off his kidney stone and got a price of USD 25,000 for it.

Marilyn Monroe’s Chest X-Ray
Well, ‘shocking’ is the word. This blonde bombshell’s popularity status can be realised from the fact that her set of three chest X-rays was auctioned off for a price of USD 45,000.

Elton John’s Trash
Our old worn-out clothes are meant to be either thrown away or better donated to the charities, right? But in this weird auction, Elton John’s old garments were sold off for an unreasonable yet hefty amount.

Scarlett Johansson’s Used Tissue
Eeewww… Scarlett Johansson was asked by Jay Leno to blow her nose in a tissue which was later purchased by a bidder for USD 5,300.

Justin Timberlake’s French Toast
This one is the craziest! Justin Timberlake’s French toast leftovers were sold out for as much as USD 3,154.

Bryan Adams’ Armani socks
Well, we are referring to the Bryan Adams’ dirty Armani socks that were auctioned off for USD 950.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Cough Drop Spat
It can’t get grosser than this. He may be a living legend admired by millions, but it’s still hard to justify that even a cough drop spat by Arnold Schwarzenegger was once up for grabs. However, it was later removed.

Hats off to the allegiance and the super-richness of the takers!
