So far holding only a theoretical perception of such revolutions via school history books, it is for the first time in my life that I saw people coming out of their homes to join such a mega movement. <br/><br/>16th August 2011 would go down as the day when 120 crore <i>janta</i> of India witnessed history being written as Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal were arrested even before they started their peaceful protest against corruption.<br/><br/>By the look of the TV images, teeming commoners in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Bhopal etc. India seems all set for a revolution. The winds of ‘change’ finally seem to be sweeping.<br/><br/>But, it’s important to know that corruption is a complicated issue. There might be many who would not be clear about what the fight is about exactly.<br/><br/>In this revolutionary time, it is extremely important to channelize the positive and constructive emotions that millions of us feel for building a better nation.<br/><br/>Interestingly, there is no bigger media than the great Indian film industry aka Bollywood that has the power to stir up emotions in the youth unlike anything else. <br/><br/>As art, cinema carries a great responsibility. However, having said that I do not mean that Bollywood should all of a sudden start producing more and more patriotic films as it’s a big ask in an art form which is so expensive, but the people who are associated with the medium can surely contribute in a big way.<br/><br/>Film industry has come of age and there is no dearth of intellectuals in the industry. And also they are people with whom millions and millions of Indians relate.<br/><br/>So, it was really heartening to see when veterans like Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Shatrughan Sinha and others threw their might to lend the movement more teeth and visibility and also question its shortcomings for the betterment of the campaign.<br/><br/>Besides taking to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, many film personalities took to the streets to support Anna Hazare.<br/><br/>74-year-old Anna is on a sincere mission. The new generation of artists should come with full force to ignite minds and garner support from the people to fight social evils.<br/><br/>Being a known face, B-town folks have the power to reach out to thousands of people. They should make use of this social platform and spread social messages to help rout out the biggest menace of our society.
