Bhopal: The infighting within Janata Dal (United) seems to be undying and as per latest update, the Bhopal administration on Friday locked the JD(U) office in the city.
The JD(U) office is located at Professor Colony at Bhopal.
It is to be noted that since Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar ended his alliance with Rashtriya Janata Dal, an infighting emerged in JD(U) with one faction supporting Nitish and other backing Sharad Yadav.
Sharad had also staked his claims over JD(U) party symbol and had submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission of India in this regard. However, the ECI had on September 13 disposed off his application saying it was not supported with relevant documents.
The JD(U), headed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, also approached the ECI to file a counter plea against a petition submitted by Sharad. The JD(U) also submitted that Sharad had voluntarily left the party and had involved in anti-party activities.
The delegation, who filed the counter plea, consisted of RCP Singh, Sanjay Jha, Lallan Singh and KC Tyagi.
On Wednesday, Sharad said he will decide the future course of action at a convention of JD(U) on October 8 in New Delhil and added that his lawyers would respond to the Election Commission which did not take cognisance of his faction's application claiming to be the 'real JD(U)'.
"We are the real JD(U) and we will prove it in the coming days. You will be surprised to see the way we are going to expand it," Sharad told reporters here. "We are going to hold our national convention in Delhi on October 8 where we will decide our future course of action," he added.
Asked about the Election Commission rejecting the plea staking claim over the party symbol, Sharad Yadav said, "It has not been rejected. Our lawyers are looking into the matter and will respond at the appropriate time."
He acknowledged that he had a got a notice from the Rajya Sabha Secretariat regarding his membership of the upper house. "My lawyers will respond to the notice."
He accused the rival faction of shattering the faith and trust of 11 crore people in Bihar who voted for the Grand Alliance.
Sharad Yadav said he was being targeted on the pretext that he attended a rally at Patna on August 27.
Sharad Yadav accused that Nitish Kumar-led JD-U faction of indulging in anti-party activities by breaking from the Mahagathbandhan.
