Patna: In what could be a major political development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is on his way to meet the state Governor after a meet of JD(U) MLAs on Wednesday evening.
Earlier today, the standoff between allies RJD and JD(U) continued with Lalu Yadav ruling out resignation by his son Tejashwi Prasad as Bihar's Deputy CM following the lodging of an FIR by the CBI against him in the land-for-hotels case and blamed the BJP for the 'present crisis' in the state.
"Has Nitish asked for the resignation of Tejaswi Yadav?" Prasad had retorted in reply to a volley of questions by scribes regarding JD(U)'s insistence that the embattled Deputy CM should come clean on accusations in public.
"Are they (JD(U)) the police that we have to answer them?" he had shot back in response to another question that JD(U) spokesmen have been regularly saying that Tejashwi Yadav has to come clean on the issue.
Flanked by wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi and senior party leader Jagdanand Singh, Prasad, in an apparent rejection of JD(U)'s demand, he had said, "I myself and Tejashwi will speak where it's required."
