New Delhi, March 27: With Konkan Railway switching
over to `monsoon time table` from June onwards, Railways has
decided to revise the timings of as many as nine trains that
travel between North India and the Konkan route.
The new timings will come into effect from June 10
onwards and will remain in place till October 31, said a
Northern Railway spokesperson.
According to the new timings, Trivendrum-Hazrat
Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express will reach here at 5.30 pm instead
of 12.40 pm and in the return direction, it will reach
Trivendrum at 9.30 am instead of 5.45 am.
The departure timings from both the ends will, however,
remain the same.
Similarly, the departure timings of Madgaon-Hazrat
Nizamuddin Goa Sampark Kranti Express has been changed to
10.15 am instead of 11.20 am from Madgaon. The train will
leave from here as per its original schedule and reach
there at 2.50 pm instead of 1.15 pm.
Monsoon time table is being adopted for the last four
years to ensure safety of passengers travelling on the Konkan
route which is prone to landslides during the season.
During this period, several railway zones like Northern
Railways revise timings of trains that originate or pass the
through route.
The spokesperson said, departure timings of
Ernakulum-Nizamuddin Mangala Express and Dehradun-Kochuveli
Express will also be advanced from their originating stations.
While the former will depart from Ernakulum at 10.45 am
instead of 1 pm, the latter will depart from Dehradun at 6
am instead of 7.20 am.
On the other hand, Kochuveli-Chandigarh Express will
reach Chandigarh at 6.15 pm instead of 3.30 pm and
Kochuveli-Dehradun Express will reach Dehradun at 9.25 pm
instead of 6.05 pm.
Likewise, Kochuveli-Amritsar Express will reach Amritsar
at 9.55 pm instead of 7.35 pm, the spokesperson said.
