arresting the perpetrators of a murder, a mob on Saturday set ablaze a police station and a vehicle in Bihar`s Madhubani district.
Scores of residents Nagvas village torched Arer police
station and a police vehicle parked there to protest the local
administration`s failure to arrest those who had strangled a
48-year-old woman, Deputy Superintendent of Police M Sarina
told reporters.

The blaze was extinguished but not before it caused
considerable damage to the building and the vehicle, he
said.

Kishori Devi, wife of Ramkumar Mandal, was strangled to
death by unidentified assailants on March 7 and her body
thrown in a farm close to her house.

Mandal said the thatched building of the police station,
furniture and records were destroyed in the fire.

Six persons have been arrested in connection with the
incident.
