PV Sindhu moves up to career best fifth rank, while Saina stays at ninth

New Delhi: Ace India shuttler PV Sindhu on Thursday shuttled to her career best ranking of five in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Women's singles list.

The Rio silver medallist was previously ranked sixth, behind Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand, whom she dethroned to acquire the fifth spot.

Saina Nehwal is the other Indian to feature on the top-10 list. The 2012 bronze medallist remained in her position at number nine.

Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei is at number one while Spain's Carolina Marin remains a rank behind her on the latest BWF ranking list.

On the men's list Ajay Jayaram remains at 18 while Kidambi Srikanth stays at 21.
