AVP medical director G Ravindran told reporters here that as advances in science and medicine evolved, it was becoming imperative that human ailments are addressed with precision.

AVP, with recent advances and demonstrable competence had developed in treatment protocols for focused ailments and initiated speciality treatment clinics for ailments like stomach and intestinal disorders, women's speciality disorders, pain and joint and neurological disorders, he said.

The clinic envisages addressing specific issues of its patients with respect to ailments and special groups and would have exclusively trained physicians who are experts at such focused Ayurveda care, Ravindran said.

The immediate focus for these specialities stemmed from the fact that over 60 per cent cases pertained to such disorders, he said, adding women and children constitute most of its patients, while bone and joint ailments are ofter the reason for people to look towards Ayurveda as an alternate, especially when symptomatic treatment has failed them.

AVP also plans to extend the range of specialities to more focus areas like cancer treatment, geriatric care, infertility disorders, leech clinic in the near future, he said.
