The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced that it will contest Mizoram Assembly elections on 13 seats. The decision to announce 13 names for the Mizoram Assembly was taken after a meeting of the BJP's Central Election Committee, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and its president Amit Shah.
Elections in Mizoram are scheduled on November 28 and counting will be held on December 7.

All 13 candidates named by the BJP for the 40-member Mizoram Assembly are Christians, Union minister JP Nadda said.
Along with Mizoram, BJP also released a list of candidates for Telangana and Chhattisgarh. While 38 candidates have been named in Telangana, it has announced the first list of 77 candidates for assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.
